We had a great last general meeting of the semester – everything is starting to finish up, but we still have some exciting plans. We are going to have one final celebratory meeting on Thursday, December 5 at Pizzamania where we’ll give out awards. We will meet somewhere around ECS and walk to Pizzamania together, so don’t worry if you’re not sure where it is.

This semester’s last build day for BUILD 3D is this Saturday at 11am. If you are still not done after tomorrow and still need some help (or if your printer has any problems you can’t seem to fix on your own), you are always welcome to come back next semester. Former participants are always welcome to come help out as well.

We also have a one-day Maker series event – screen printing – on December 7 at noon. You have to bring your own t-shirt, but otherwise this event is free! You will have 3 designs to choose from, which will be chosen from whichever designs you guys submit. So submit your designs ASAP to screenprint@lbmakersociety.org! If you can, use our light bulb logo, gears, etc., in your design – try to represent our club and who we are as makers!

Finally, we are now accepting applications for Wilma the Weather Balloon. We are looking for 5 small teams: structural (in charge of frame, payload, minimum and maximum weight, etc.), software (code to meet specifications), hardware/electronics (including battery life and making sure components will function at negative temperatures), design (cool look and logo) and integration (flow between teams, requirements, and FAA regulations). Apply now at www.lbmakersociety.org/wilma. This is a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience and participate in a real engineering project
