As we move into our third year in existence as a student organization, I intend to continue the positive momentum that carried us from our humble but rough beginnings to where we are today. Our organization has only skimmed the surface: we have great potential and it will require every one of you to achieve our goals.
Those goals include but are not limited to creating/building, learning, sharing, and instill DIY skills. Our main goal is to share our knowledge to inspire others to become well rounded. We will be the bridge between the different engineering disciplines and reach outside our walls into other areas such as the various art disciplines.
What’s in store?
The fall semester will be jam packed with activities and workshops for our members. Come visit our table at Week of Welcome at the central quadrangle at upper campus. It will be held Wednesday, 09/03 and Thursday, 09/04 from 11am to 2pm. We will also be in attendance at the Engineering Welcome Day on Wednesday, 09/10 from 11am to 2pm.
We will have our typical BUILD Series 101 and 3D workshops so stay tuned for the upcoming dates. We will unveil the rest of the plans in the second half of the semester.
What is a maker?
Imaginative. Curious. Creative. Persistent. Passionate.
These are just some of the attributes that exemplify what it is to be a Maker.
You don’t think you’re any of the above? Stop. All of us were described as these words at least once in our lifetime you just grew out of it. It’s time to recapture the curiosity and the imagination that made your childhood an interesting and fun adventure.
Join me and like-minded folks and let’s make!
